Milano Art Week 2026
Refreshing the visual identity and social communication of Milan’s contemporary art week
Milano Art Week is the annual contemporary art week promoted by the Comune di Milano in collaboration with miart and a wide network of museums, foundations, galleries, universities, and independent spaces across the city.
Frakas collaborated with ArtsFor on the communication of Milano Art Week 2026, continuing the work developed for the previous edition through a refresh of the visual identity and social media language of the event. The intervention updated the existing system to give renewed recognisability to the 2026 edition while preserving the visual clarity and accessibility already associated with the project.

Rather than positioning Milano Art Week as a traditional festival with a centralized venue, the communication approach emphasized its distributed and urban nature. During the week, the entire city becomes an exhibition landscape: museums, contemporary art institutions, galleries, artist-run spaces, universities, bookstores, theaters, and temporary venues are connected through a shared visual and editorial framework.
The updated identity was designed to balance institutional communication with the energy of the contemporary art scene. Typography, layouts, motion language, campaign assets, and social media content were adapted to function across highly diverse contexts, from museum exhibitions and public art installations to talks, performances, workshops, and exhibition openings.

Particular attention was dedicated to the evolution of Milano Art Week’s social media language. Frakas worked on making the communication feel more editorial, immediate, and recognizable across platforms, helping position the event not only as an institutional program but also as an active cultural conversation connected to Milan’s international art ecosystem.
The communication system extended across digital and physical applications, including social campaigns, exhibition communication, website assets, editorial layouts, event promotion materials, and city-wide visibility developed in collaboration with institutions, museums, media partners, and cultural organizations.
The 2026 edition involved more than 260 promoters and over 500 events distributed throughout Milan, consolidating Milano Art Week as one of Europe’s leading platforms for contemporary art, exhibitions, museum programming, and public cultural events.
