ABADIR – a Design and Visual Communication Academy based in Catania – is a reference point for those entering the world of design through an approach that combines education, practice and visual culture. For Frakas, the new website was conceived as a tool to make this identity clearer, sharper and closer to a generation used to moving through fast, visual and direct digital environments.

Frakas designed ABADIR’s website as a recognisable, vibrant and contemporary system, built to speak to a younger audience without relying on short-lived visual codes. The project uses vivid colours, clear hierarchies and a simplified structure to make key actions smoother: exploring courses, understanding the educational offer, sending an information request and approaching enrolment. Here, graphic design is not just surface – it is the way the website organises content and turns complexity into something immediate.

A central part of the project was rethinking how to communicate teaching. Not as an abstract collection of programmes and definitions, but as a concrete practice made of workshops, collaborations, events and real projects. The website helps explain what design can mean today even to people with no previous familiarity with the field, showing how education connects with cultural production and a broader public dimension. This also includes DELIDA – Design Library and Digital Archive, presented as a space for research, archives and cultural activation.

The result is a platform for visual communication, design education and access to content. A website that makes ABADIR clearer, stronger and more visible, using design to talk about design in a direct, contemporary way built to stay fresh over time.
